Dion’s Carbon Tax Doesn’t Add Up
This little graphic says it all. Liberal Leader Stéphane Dion says that Liberals won’t raise gas prices at the pump. This simply means that they won’t increase the direct federal tax component on gas. On the other hand, they will add a massive carbon tax to the finished product each step of the way from the hole in the ground.
Stéphane Dion would have you believe that (1+TAX) + (1+TAX) + (1+TAX) + (1+NO TAX) = NO INCREASE IN GAS PRICE. Something just does not add up! Liberals will be adding at least 3 NEW CARBON TAXES before gasoline even reaches the pump.
Liberals want to claim they did not increase gas prices because they will not increase the federal gas tax component at the pump. This is what they call a “TAX SHIFT” - shifting into third gear! Gas price increases would accelerate if Stéphane Dion and his Liberal cronies were able to initiate their massive tax grab.
